1. What Hookova does
Hookova takes a link to a publicly accessible short-form video, breaks the opening down shot by shot, and returns a storyboard describing framing, camera work, and hook technique, together with a recipe for recreating that structure. Analysis is automated and typically completes in a couple of minutes.
The service accepts videos between 3 seconds and 3 minutes long. Longer or private videos will be rejected or will fail.
2. Your account
You must be at least 13 years old (16 where local law requires) and able to enter a contract. Keep your login credentials secure — you are responsible for what happens under your account. One person or organisation per account; don't share logins to stretch a plan.
3. Plans, credits and payment
- Free — 3 credits to try the service.
- Basic — $20 per month for 8 credits.
- Pro — $49 per month for 50 credits.
- Annual billing is offered at a 20% discount on the monthly rate.
One successful analysis costs one credit. Credits refresh at the start of each billing period and do not roll over. We never charge a credit for a run that fails to download or fails during analysis — if a run fails, your balance is untouched.
Subscriptions are billed in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices may change; we will give notice before a change affects your renewal.
4. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from the billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; your plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for, and we don't pro-rate partial months. Because credits are consumed immediately on a successful analysis, used credits are not refundable. If something goes genuinely wrong on our side, email us — we would rather fix it than argue about it.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit videos you have no right to access, or use the service to circumvent a platform's access controls or privacy settings.
- Submit content that is illegal, or that depicts child sexual abuse, non-consensual sexual content, or material you have been told not to distribute.
- Resell, sublicense, or white-label the analysis output as your own product, or use it to build a competing service.
- Scrape, automate, or otherwise access the service outside the interface we provide, or attempt to exceed your credit allowance by technical means.
- Interfere with the service's operation, probe its security, or overload the queue.
6. Third-party video content
Videos you submit belong to their creators and live on platforms with their own terms. Hookova fetches a video only to analyse it, deletes the file immediately after extracting frames and audio, and retains only keyframes and the derived report. You are responsible for ensuring your use of a given video, and of the analysis we return, complies with the source platform's terms and applicable law. We are not affiliated with TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram.
7. Intellectual property
We own the service, the software, and the Hookova brand. You keep whatever rights you have in the content you submit, and you grant us the licence needed to process it and deliver your report. The report we generate for you is yours to use, including commercially, in your own content and client work.
8. AI output — what we can and can't promise
Analyses are produced by automated models. They are interpretations, not facts: shot boundaries, transcripts, and hook labels can be wrong, and no report is a prediction that a video will perform. Use your judgement before acting on anything the tool tells you. The service is provided for informational purposes and is not professional advice.
9. Beta features and availability
Some features ship marked as beta — Instagram Reels support is currently beta and public posts only, and it will fail intermittently. Beta features may change or be withdrawn. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we may take the service down for maintenance.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, abuses the service, or creates legal risk for us — where it's reasonable to do so, we'll tell you why first. On termination, your right to use the service ends and we delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is capped at the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $100. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the service, or content you submit that you had no right to submit.
14. Changes to the terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. We'll change the date at the top of this page, and for material changes we'll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction — except that consumers keep the protection of the mandatory laws of their country of residence.
