One click on the toolbar saves the page you’re on — article, product, thread or video. Hookova reads it, writes the synopsis and files it under a category for you. Right-click works too, on a page or on a link.
The store install is one click and updates itself. The .zip is the unpacked route, for anyone who wants the build itself: four steps, about a minute, and Chrome will not update that copy for you. The panel beside this walks through either one. See what it does.
One click on the Web Store listing and Chrome installs it — then keeps it up to date on its own, which is the part the .zip can't do.
Your library, one keystroke from wherever you are: press ⌥⌘Sand the board is on screen, already loaded. The menu bar icon opens a panel that saves the link you just copied — paste, press return, done — with the last few things you kept underneath it.
You sign in once, in your normal browser — the app opens it, you approve, and it stays signed in. Saving from the menu bar draws on the same daily allowance every other surface does, and spends no credit. It keeps itself up to date after this download: it checks daily and installs quietly, so this is the last version you have to fetch by hand.
That right-click is macOS being careful, not a problem with the download: the app isn’t notarised with Apple yet, so a plain double-click refuses it the first time. Opening it this way once settles the question and you’ll never see it again — including for updates, which the app installs itself.
Give Claude, Cursor or any MCP client the keys to your library and it can save a link, search what you’ve kept, retag a batch, summarise the week or post a video to your channels — inside the conversation you were already having. Seventeen tools, one local process, your own account.

Or skip the zip and hand the whole install to the assistant: say “install www.hookova.com/install/mcp” and it fetches the commands and runs them.
Nothing is hosted and nothing is shared: it runs on your machine, holds one token, and talks to the same API the phone does. Setup is three steps and about two minutes — or two, if you let it sign you in when you first ask it for something.
